In short: the clone on AskMyStartup is an AI trained by the founder. It says it is AI. It only states facts the founder approved. A founder's voice is cloned only after they record their consent.
Who is answering
When you chat with a founder's clone, or hear it in a meeting, the reply is written by an AI clone, not by the founder. The clone is trained only on what that founder gave it: their answers, documents and voice notes.
Where answers come from
- The clone answers only from facts the founder has approved.
- Each answer shows its sources, and the clone's own ideas are marked as suggestions.
- A second check compares each answer with those facts before you see it.
- If there is no approved fact, the clone says it will check with the founder.
- Plans are shown as plans and goals as goals, never as things that already happened.
Voice
A clone speaks in the founder's own voice only after the founder records a consent clip. The clone tells people it is AI. The founder can delete their voice at any time, which also deletes it at our voice provider.
Mistakes
AI can make mistakes. The founder is responsible for the facts they approve. If an answer looks wrong, tell the founder, or write to us and we will look into it.
