Short answer
Tettra is a knowledge base with a Slack bot that answers repetitive questions from your documents and wiki pages. AskMyStartup has no wiki to maintain: the founder approves answers one at a time, and the team asks on a web page.
Everything below about Tettra comes from its own site, checked on October 20, 2026. For current terms and plans, read its pricing page. Products change.
Tettra in brief
- What it is
- Tettra describes itself as an internal knowledge base with an AI bot, Kai, that answers repetitive questions in Slack channels and direct messages.
- Who it is for
- Teams of many kinds, according to its home page: whole companies, support teams and agencies. Its pricing page lists a 10 user minimum.
- Cites its sources
- Its site does not say that answers carry citations.
- When it is not sure
- Yes. Its home page says that if Kai cannot find an answer, it helps find the right person to answer.
- Setup
- Its home page lists three steps: use your existing Google Docs, PDFs or Tettra pages, connect the bot to Slack, then answer repetitive questions in channels and direct messages.
Where Tettra is strongest
- It works where many teams already talk: inside Slack.
- Subject matter experts can verify pages, and it can find gaps in your content.
- It tells you plainly what the bot does when it has no answer, which few sites do.
What a small team should weigh
A 10 user minimum may not fit a team of five. A wiki also needs someone to keep it current.
When to stay with Tettra
Stay with Tettra if your team lives in Slack and you are happy to write and maintain a wiki that the bot searches.
What AskMyStartup does differently
The founder approves each answer once, with an owner and the date it was confirmed. The team asks on a web page that works on any phone. If there is no approved answer, the clone says it does not know and sends the question to the founder.
It is not for you if you need answers inside Slack, Teams or WhatsApp, or if your answers already sit in documents you want a bot to search.
