Answering your team's repeat questions in Hindi, Telugu or Hinglish

If your team asks in Hindi, Telugu or Hinglish, English-only answers get ignored. How to write approved answers once and serve them in the language your team uses.

Many Indian teams ask questions in the language they think in: Hindi, Telugu, or Hinglish, which is Hindi written in English letters and mixed with English words. If your written answers are only in English, people skip them and ask you. The fix is to write the answer once, check it in the language your team uses, and keep one version of the truth.

Why English-only answers get skipped

  • Readers have to translate in their head, so asking you is faster.
  • Policy words in English can be read in more than one way.
  • A pinned message in one language feels like it is not for everyone.
  • Voice notes and chat replies are in the team's own language, so the documents feel foreign.

Step 1: keep one source of truth

Write each answer once, in the language you think about it in, with the date it was confirmed and who owns it. Translations should come from that one answer, so a change in the rule changes everywhere.

Step 2: write the numbers the same way in every language

Amounts, days and limits cause the most mistakes. Use the same digits everywhere, say which currency and which unit, and keep the condition next to the number, for example credit up to a set amount for customers who have paid on time before.

Step 3: have a native reader check each version

A machine translation can be wrong in small ways that change a rule. Before an answer goes to the team, have someone who speaks that language every day read it. This matters most for money, leave and safety rules.

Step 4: use the words your team really uses

Hinglish is how most teams write in chat. Write answers the way the team writes, not the way a form would. If your team says udhaar, say udhaar, and keep the English word next to it the first time.

Step 5: say clearly what is not covered

The most useful answer to a question nobody has answered is: I do not know yet, I have asked the owner. Say this in the same language, so people wait instead of guessing.

Where an AI clone fits

An AI clone of the founder can answer in the language the team asks in, from answers the founder approved, and say so when it does not know. In our own tests on 19 October 2026 we checked written answers from approved answers in the 10 most spoken languages, including Hindi, Bengali and Urdu, and in Telugu and Hinglish, and each answered correctly. AskMyStartup is in private beta. You can try a Hinglish demo without signing up.
